The real question is what to do when you don't know what to do, nor how to eval a position correctly.

I don't have a Facebook account, as I have not yet been assimilated by the collective.
Even if I did, having to go to a different site to comment on a blog post has always seemed a bit silly.
Happy to comment here on your posts when you put them up, assuming I have anything worth saying.
i thought it was a great post. why doesn't nigel enable comments on his blog? does he really only want the comments on fb?

Thanks for the feedback. I think Nigel is leery of spam and hateful stuff in comments...but he has to police fb too. Anyway, I will continue to post links here and really appreciate your responses.
Hello - Thank you for this fascinating post. I just got back into chess. I have not played for almost 20 years. I am learning that fascination and interest in the action on the board leads to better play, as opposed to, beating myself up over bad moves and blunders. I think this inherent fascination leads to be better attention on the board. I do not think it is the other way around. I am learning to read the board as a story of interaction among the various players. I will let you know how this experiment works. Thanks for book recommendation. Hopefully, it will make me a better player. Otherwise, at least it is fun.
