All Those Years Ago

I remember playing Bryan Smith about 10 years ago in the Juneau v. Anchorage match before the annual Fur Rondy open. He was around 1800, I was around 1700 and he waxed me pretty good.

Now he's FM Smith (2441) and here he defeats GM Charbonneau last week in a US Chess League match.

I see from the USCL site that Charbonneau is Irina Krush's boyfriend, which is some compensation; but if Bill Hartston's experience with Dr. Jana Malypetrova Hartston Miles Bellin is any indication, he'd better keep the old Elo up...

Just kidding. Elo isn't everything, as I surely know!
