New Chess Blog Links

The Sage in the Tower from Eric Shoemaker, a fellow warrior at the Reno Chess Club, and The King's Pawn from André R.

You can see some of Eric's games by clicking on 'Game Archive' at the Reno Chess Club site. Do not look at Pearson-Shoemaker, 01-12-2006, where I fall into a trap on move 6 that I've known about for 25 years. I said don't look...

Anyway, I'm sure you won't ever fall for that one, and neither will I. Again.

ADDENDUM: Also adding the Qxh7# blog. I'm now playing him at Red Hot Pawn, as well. Click the link on the right if you'd like to see the game (Stonedog - Newvictorian), as well as my other efforts there.

Hi Robert, actually that trap has occurred even at the master levels. So you're in good company. And besides, we all for them occasionally. I was once a victim of the famous 'Kieninger Trap'in the Budapest Gambit. A reflex response with no thought as I took my opponent's Bishop. But instructive, I now play both sides of the Budapest Gambit and like you said, it will never happen again! Sometimes, life's lessons are hard! Eric Shoemaker

Hi Robert, well it's late and my studies have come to an end. Good luck in tomorrow's game. You should have won the last one. That means your opponent pays for last week's loss! However, if your opponent is me, then surely you must know that I won't let that happen. Eric
