Your successes in the King's Gambit are partly because you're not trying to win the game in the opening, but have ideas about advantages and building on them. I was just warning against the attitude that opening study is about getting a winning position early in the game through knowing some traps.Robert Pearsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01357942424904415208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21716553.post-84321888751420374312007-08-10T08:04:00.000-07:002007-08-10T08:04:00.000-07:00I totally agree with you that this is the way to g...I totally agree with you that this is the way to go for learning chess openings. I look forward to hearing of your numerous successes.

I would like to say that The Chess Advantage in Black and White is an excellent all around repertoire book. The only thing wrong, in my view, is trying to win the game in the opening.

I think you are making a popular mistake here. There are different kinds of gambits. Tactical or positional gambits. I play only positional gambits. I play the kings gambit for 7 yearsTemposchluckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07977208394417444785noreply@blogger.com
